Stalford Learning Centre is closely affiliated to Stalford Academy, and has a long running history of about 18 years. As a player in the local private education industry, Stalford Learning Centre has grown tremendously over the years, to a sizeable strength of 20 centres all over the island. Throughout the centre’s years of operations, it has seen the accelerated growth and development of many batches of students who have progressed on fairly well to institutions of higher learning. Professor Michael Song is a global leading scholar, researcher and educator in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. He was the Director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Professor of Marketing at the Bloch School of Business and Public Administration, University of Missouri-Kansas City. Professor Song is honored as one of the top 20 technology management scholars by R&D Management, and has been selected as the most published scholar at the Journal of Product Innovation Management over the last twenty years.

Dr. Zhang Yen Ming – Chairman

With over 20 years of experience in teaching and consultancy projects, Professor Zhang Yen Ming is a leading expert in educational administration. This includes educational planning, school leadership, teachers’ professional development, assessment of performance, and student management. Professor Zhang has taught Master courses in Educational Administration such as Leading Change in Education, Educational Leadership, and Administration and Planning. He is skilled in organizing teachers’ projects on service for learning prior to appointments to schools by the Ministry of Education (MOE), supervising teachers on practicum and working closely with school principals on evaluating their performances, and mentoring teachers and would-be school leaders.

Dr. Patrick Chan Kheng Ping

Professor Patrick Chan has a BSc (Hons) in Biology from Washington State University, a Masters in Business Administration from University of Dubuque and a PhD degree in Business from the Nanyang Technological University. He has been a faculty member of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) since 2004. Dr. Chan currently serves as Board Member for both the Asia Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA) and Risk and Insurance Management Association of Singapore (RIMAS). He is currently a member of many distinguished organizations including CPA Australia Financial Planning Task Force (Singapore), General Insurance Association of Singapore (GIAS) Workmen’s Compensation Committee. Dr. Chan also co-authored several books in his area of expertise and is a regular contributor of articles to international academic journals.

Having trained over 1200 students- including students in the top 5 junior colleges in Singapore in entrepreneurship and innovation, Mr Lee is frequently invited by local universities such as the National University of Singapore and the Singapore Management University to conduct lectures on entrepreneurship and innovation.

Principal’s Address

On behalf of everyone at Stalford Academy, I extend a very warm welcome and wish you a very fruitful time at our school!

Our academic guidance reaches out to students of all ages, educational levels, ethnicities and nationalities. At our institution, anyone serious in his/her education is always more than welcome.

Stalford Academy aims to bring out the best in each and every student, be they primary school students, secondary students, pre-university students, or working professionals. We believe that all students are genuine high-flyers and we develop them to their fullest potential.

We listen to our students’ each and every need to ensure that their welfare is well taken care of. When students’ needs are met, both students and teachers are able to focus intensely on the students’ progress and growth in class.

Growth as a student not only brings academic successes and improvements to an individual, but also develops the student in an all-rounded manner. During their stint with Stalford Academy, students will learn about social dynamics and hone their interpersonal skills. Thus, the Stalford student is able to handle life situations well, on top of being able to excel academically.

All of our teachers are registered with the Committee for Private Education. The Committee for Private Education (CPE) is part of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). Our classrooms are all well-furnished and air-conditioned to provide a conducive and comfortable learning environment for our students.

CPE-ERF

The Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF), as set out under the Private Education Act and the Private Education Regulations, spells out the mandatory registration requirements and legislative obligations which all private education institutions, operating in and from Singapore, must meet. It is administered by the Committee for Private Education.
The Enhanced Registration Framework works to ensure that private education institutions in Singapore are of a certain acceptable standard to protect the interests of the students enrolled in their schools as well as to enhance the following aspects of the ERF:

EDUTRUST

Stalford Academy has been awarded the EduTrust Award (4 years) on 2 July 2013. It is an award that recognizes the effort of outstanding providers of private education committed to upkeeping superior standards in its programme delivery as well as excellence in structuring a comprehensive academic system. Stalford Academy has successfully renewed our EduTrust certification on 2 April 2018 for another four years.

Service Quality Targets

At Stalford Academy, we are committed to upkeep and constantly better the standards of the services we render our students. We aim to provide our students with quality education programs and student services that will create a conducive and pleasant environment for them to complete their holistic learning experience. To ensure that we meet the changing needs of our student population, the Academy always seek feedback from its students and subsequently implement new initiatives to improve its services by going an extra mile to offer service standards beyond expectations. As part of our commitment to students like you, here at Stalford, we aim to achieve the following service quality targets.

Quality assurance

Various policies have been put in place to keep the delivery of quality service by the Academy in check, as well as to maintain and improve on the standards of educational services as well. These policies provide the necessary quality assurance by the Academy to its students.

Teaching staff recruitment

All of the Academy’s teaching staff are being carefully selected through an extremely stringent process, as part of the Academy’s adopted pedagogy to integrate the curriculum with actual quality teaching. All of our teachers are also registered with the Committee for Private Education, in addition to possessing exemplary qualifications, competency and the requisite experience to deliver the courses. The Committee for Private Education (CPE) is part of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Teaching staff training and evaluation

The teaching staff are constantly being assessed and evaluated through regular teacher evaluation sessions to ensure that these teachers are aware of the changes in course syllabus and requirements. Training is also provided to our teaching staff to ensure that their teaching methodologies are aligned to the school’s espoused pedagogy.

Course reviews

The curriculum of our courses are specially designed and tailored to the needs of our students to ensure that the expected learning outcomes are being imparted to them. The designed curriculum is also constantly subjected to reviews and revisions to keep it parallel to the latest changes in syllabus while also taking into account the suggestions and feedback from our students.

Service staff skills training and upgrading

The Academy’s administrative and customer service staff undergo regular trainings and upgrading programs to renew their know-how on providing frontline services, thereby ensuring that they always deliver the best services to all of the Academy’s students. Frequent reviews are also being performed to keep the service standards of these frontline staff in check by ensuring their professionalism and on-task attitude in the process of service delivery.

Facility and equipment maintenance

At Stalford Academy, we believe that a positive learning experience is often associated with the conduciveness of the learning environment. In ensuring that we provide such conduciveness in the learning environment provided to our students, we conduct regular inspections and surveillance on all common facilities and equipments in the Academy to make sure that these facilities are being maintained at its best. Furthermore, where necessary, the Academy will revamp and upgrade its facilities accordingly to provide its students with the best learning outcomes.

Credibility

The Academy seeks to achieve utmost credibility and consistency in all of its representations in the form of publicity materials including, but not limited to its brochures and website. Appropriate and relevant policies, such as refund, transfer and withdrawal policies are being put in place in the event of cancellation, non-completion, termination of course or breach of the Standard Student Contract.
